随着空客的美国总装场在美国阿拉巴马州莫比尔的破土动工,空客的意图愈发清晰:它不仅仅是在创造空间以制造更多的A220系列飞机,更是在为其所 采纳客机的产品战略创造空间,该客机的一系列概念正处于设计阶段。

空客在美国的总装厂于星期三正式破土动工,在美国为加拿大的单通道飞机建造一条新的总装线。七个月前,空客公司与庞巴迪(Bombardier)达成协议,将该项目纳入其产品线。如果来自美国航空公司的需求得到保证的话,该新空间将最终实现每月4架A220系列飞机的最大产量。

空客如今的工作重心是加速盈利性生产,但该公司即将上任的首席执行官纪尧姆•傅里(Guillaume Faury)表示,公司产品发展的长期战略是最终推出更大型、更省油的A220家族第三个成员,即被外界称为A220-500的机型。
