Boeing, Airbus and Spirit AeroSystems are “at the goal line” on a final agreement to break apart the 19-year-old aerostructures supplier and divide control of its factories around the world between the aerospace giants, according to two people familiar with the upcoming deal.
Announcement of a deal could come as early as Monday, but may slip to later in the week, the people said, as resolution of remaining items means uncertainty around the precise time of disclosure. Any deal likely remains subject to regulatory approvals and an extended closing process.

While it remains unclear what the final financial terms of the deal will be, the overall industrial structure of the agreement is not expected to produce new surprises, the people said. Boeing is poised to take control of the company’s sprawling Wichita, Kansas and Tulsa, Oklahoma plants that were a core part of its operations before the 2005 divestitures that created Spirit.
