United and Emirates plot codeshare agreement
A global pandemic rebound forges new alliances from former adversaries.
United Airlines and Emirates Airline are set to unveil a major codeshare agreement that would begin to unite two of the largest international networks alongside one another, according to those familiar with the partnership.
The surprising détente has industry, geopolitical and diplomatic implications and comes after years of butting heads by the three largest U.S. airlines and a trio of Middle Eastern carriers who were accused of massively inflating their networks and their global reach with the help of government treasuries.
