Boeing has significantly stabilized its 737 Max assembly operations at its Renton, Washington factory, after the company was able to safely reduce the amount of time and attention paid to each aft pressure bulkhead inspection after months of significant disruptions to its single-aisle deliveries.

The U.S. plane maker for the last three months has grappled with finding and fixing holes misdrilled during the assembly of aft pressure bulkheads by Spirit AeroSystems on its signature single-aisle aircraft. The issues, first reported by The Air Current in August, prompted a sharp drop in deliveries as Boeing and Spirit worked to understand how they would address the malformed holes on the key aircraft structure.
