由于波音的资源和关注点都放在了恢复737 Max执飞方面,导致了777X飞机机载和试飞的延迟,因此,波音将暂停继777-9之后超长航程机型的开发工作。

此举可谓是波音的一个大转变。今年初春时候,为了实现超长航程运营,以及基于777-8飞机为最终的777X货机奠定基础,波音一直在修订350座777-8飞机的规格。这款飞机原定于继2020年777-9服役之后,在2022年进入服役。

波音的一位发言人在一份声明中表示,公司“审查了开发计划时间表以及现有的777X客户的需求,决定对该时间表作出调整。通过该调整,我们将降低开发计划中的风险,确保更加顺畅地实现向777-8的过渡。”
