On May 12, 2022 The Air Current editorial team hosted an in-depth and candid discussion with Steve Csonka, executive director of the Commercial Aviation Alternative Fuels Initiative (CAAFI).
Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) has been embraced as a key enabler of the aviation industry’s path to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Yet SAF is still much more expensive than fossil jet fuel, and supply is less than 0.05% of total jet fuel demand. TAC explores the history of SAF, the challenges associated with scaling production, and what needs to happen for alternative jet fuels to deliver on their climate promise.
TAC/Forum is a central pillar of the value that comes with a subscription to The Air Current. Our regular discussions with industry thought leaders across a wide range of topics is designed to create a candid look at key issues, away from corporate talking points and canned responses.
As part of this new digital events series, we’re making TAC/Forum replays available as part of all subscriptions to The Air Current. In the future, replays and this library of past events will be accessible only as part of a TAC/Pro and Corporate Subscriptions. Contact us to learn more.Subscribe for access
