As part of our coverage of the merger between Alaska Air Group and Hawaiian Airlines, The Air Current has assembled a 3D data visualization of the overlapping route networks of the two carriers. While there are only 12 routes that are common between the carriers, mostly Hawaii to the U.S. mainland, the networks stretch across a vast geography from Boston to Sydney. The map can be zoomed to a specific geographical area and each arc illustrates a one-way route and the flights scheduled in December 2023, according to Cirium’s Diio. Filters for each major category of flying are also included with the network explorer.
