The New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) has selected a new operator of the Downtown Manhattan Heliport in a closely watched competition that will help shape the future of urban air mobility in one of its most promising and high-profile markets.
Downtown Skyport LLC was announced as the winner of the competitive procurement process on Nov. 21, according to a city government notice. It is a joint venture between Skyports Infrastructure — the UK-based vertiport developer and operator of the London Heliport — and France’s Groupe ADP, which operates the three major airports and Issy-les-Moulineaux heliport in Paris and other airports around the world.

A public hearing to confirm the award is scheduled for Dec. 9, after which the concession agreement is expected to take effect as soon as February 2025.
