Former National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) chief operating officer Chris Rocheleau has been sworn in as the deputy administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration, according to multiple people familiar with the matter. The White House has not yet announced Rocheleau’s expected appointment as acting administrator, which is separate from the second-in-command deputy role, a development first reported by the Wall Street Journal. The chief position at the FAA is currently vacant following the resignation of Administrator Mike Whitaker on Jan. 20.
