A Delta spokesman denied there were any active talks on widebodies, though it has some of the closest ties in the industry with Airbus. Last year Delta quietly shelved A350-1000 consideration, according to those familiar with its planning. The carriers’s huge capital expenditure plan is committed to hundreds of A220-300s, A321s, A350s, A330-900, and 737 Max 10s in the years to come. As of May 15, ch-aviation shows 308 on order, including 17 A330-900s and six A350s. Delta topped up on 13 LATAM A350s in 2021. The A330neo has been of interest to Delta with its 767-300s reaching advanced age and no Boeing NMA. -J.O.
