An International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) safety oversight audit of the Federal Aviation Administration last month has found no official Significant Safety Concerns (SSC), according to an internal FAA town hall event that was reviewed by The Air Current.
The lack of SSCs issued during the Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) is a win for the agency, which has been beleaguered with increased scrutiny from lawmakers, safety professionals and the general public in recent months over its oversight of Boeing, handling of a national air traffic controller shortage and an uptick in close calls at airports.
