Frustrated by ongoing delays to deliveries of its single-aisle aircraft, Steven Greenway, CEO of low-cost carrier Flyadeal, called for a broad reset by Airbus to right its industrial operation during a wide-ranging interview this week with The Air Show podcast.

Greenway was expanding on comments he first made to Reuters in June at the International Air Transport Association’s Annual General Meeting in New Delhi, when he expressed frustration over “inexcusable” delays in deliveries of A320neo aircraft. Flyadeal is the fast-growing LCC arm of the Saudia Group, which received its 40th A320 from Airbus this week with plans to have a fleet of 98 aircraft, including 10 A330-900neos, before the end of 2029.
“As painful as what I would call the ‘reset’ at Boeing [that] has happened over the past year, the results today, and their output, particularly their 737 line, seems to be progressing reasonably nicely. So, you know, they’ve gone through a lot of pain, done a reset, and it seems to be paying off,” said Greenway.
