PARIS – SkyWest Airlines is in advanced negotiations with Embraer for a firm order of more than 50 E175 regional jets, according to two people familiar with the negotiations.
The order, which could be announced as soon as today, would be a significant backlog win for the Brazilian plane maker a day after LOT Polish Airlines — one of its largest customers — selected the Airbus A220 to replace its regional and small narrowbody fleet.

The state-owned Polish carrier purchased 40 Airbus A220-300s and -100s with options for 44 more, replacing one of the largest Embraer E-Jet fleets in Europe, currently standing at 38 E1 series aircraft across all four major variants and three leased E195-E2 aircraft, according to ch-aviation.
